Utilizing the texture of high-precision silk-screen printing on originally manufactured "Echizen Washi" paper, it expresses the delicate texture and freshness of sushi toppings.
Various sushi are drawn in nearly actual size each month, accompanied by trivia related to the toppings in both Japanese and English.
Paying close attention to the color of the shari (rice), specially manufactured "Echizen Washi" paper is used. In order to emphasize the whiteness of the shari expressed by the color tone of the washi paper itself, the base section other than the shari is lightly colored.
High-precision silk-screen printing is applied effectively, with a particular focus on the delicate texture and freshness of sushi toppings, such as the plump firefly squid, the crisp and fresh sprout onions, and the popping texture of herring roe.
January features "shrimp," the same as the 2026 edition, but for 2027, it has been changed to fresh sweet shrimp with heads attached.
The sushi topping designs are newly drawn every year, allowing repeat users to use it with a fresh feeling as well.
It is also recommended as a gift for people from overseas.
