From the production area of Japanese paper with a history of 1000 years.
Kai no Kuni, Ichikawa Daimon.
Blessed with high peaks and clean water, this village has been known as a producer of Japanese paper since the Heian period. There is even a record in the book contained in Shoso-in that "in 756, hemp, which is the raw material for paper, was delivered to the imperial court from Kai no Kuni." After that, the Japanese paper of Ichikawa Daimon was recognized as a paper of the Takeda clan and the Edo Tokugawa bakufu, and developed.
The history of the Japanese paper manufacturer, Ohnao, has walked along with the history of the Ichikawa Daimon paper industry. In recent years, we have developed paper that can be used for interiors and miscellaneous goods by including new technologies into tradition.
"Naoron" is a Japanese paper that retains the excellent characteristics of Japanese paper and is both durable. We created a product using a new Japanese paper developed by Ohnao with Naoto Fukazawa, an industrial designer from Yamanashi Prefecture. That is the product of this "SIWA | Kamiwa".
