Kyonooto – Ryokuyū
Ryokuyū takes its name from the green glaze used in traditional ceramics. One of the oldest ceramic glazes, it was already in use in ancient China before the Common Era and was introduced to Japan during the Heian period, where it became highly prized among the aristocracy. This color reflects the serene, refined green characteristic of these historic glazed wares.

About the Kyonooto Series
Kyonooto (pronounced kyo-no-o-to) is TAG STATIONERY's fountain pen ink series inspired by the traditional Japanese colors that have been cherished since the Heian period. Each ink is carefully developed to reinterpret these historic colors through modern ink-making techniques, with every shade carrying its own name and cultural story.
Developed in collaboration with the Kyoto Kusakizome Research Institute, the series features dye-based inks known for their beautiful shading and smooth color transitions. Their water-soluble nature also makes them suitable for creative techniques such as blending, washes, and watercolor-like effects with a water brush.
